BHH, as the official distributor of Ulysse Nardin in South Africa is thrilled to announce exciting news and share information about the highly-anticipated 14th edition of The Ocean Race. This is a challenging adventure that will see sports teams sail around the world, departed from Alicante, Spain on January 15th, and finishing in Genova, Italy.

Cape Town will host the 2022/23 The Ocean Race between February 5-26, 2023 at the V&A Waterfront. The 14th edition will feature the longest Southern Ocean crossing in the event’s 50-year history, as sailors race a 12,750 nautical mile marathon from Cape Town to Itajaí, Brazil. The V&A Waterfront, the official race village for six editions, will serve as the hub of the Cape Town Stopover. Its core theme of ocean sustainability will be highlighted through a variety of engaging content aimed at raising awareness of ocean health and sustainability.

The Ocean Race will feature two classes of high-performance yachts, the IMOCA class and the VO65 class. Ulysse Nardin, a brand renowned for its close relationship with the ocean, is the official timing partner and time to act partner of the race, committed to promoting sustainability through its Racing with Purpose program in collaboration with 11th Hour Racing.

Ulysse Nardin is also a proud partner of 11th Hour Racing Team, a crew of six professional sailors, who will race through some of the most inhospitable waters on the planet, with a mission to win both on and off the water. By promoting healthy communities, prosperous economies, and a better protected planet, 11th Hour Racing Team is the perfect partner for Ulysse Nardin, who shares the same values of exploration, innovation, and sustainability.

In addition, Ulysse Nardin is the official timing partner of Virtual Regatta, the popular virtual sailing game, where players can race around the world, taking on the same challenging conditions as the professional sailors.

BHH invites you to join us in this exciting journey as we follow the progress of the race and support Ulysse Nardin’s mission to promote sustainability and ocean health. Time waits for no one, and it is the way we spend this time that defines who we are. We encourage you to discover, participate, and commit with us on this sustainable journey across the ocean.
