Introduced in 2001, Freak fundamentally challenged the conventions of mechanical watchmaking. With no traditional dial, hands or crown, its movement itself rotates to indicate the time, transforming the mechanics into the centrepiece of the watch.

The original Freak was also a pioneer in the use of silicon escapement components, opening new possibilities for precision and mechanical engineering. From Freak X to the technically ambitious Freak ONE and Freak S, the collection remains Ulysse Nardin’s laboratory for radical ideas, unconventional calibres and experimental Haute Horlogerie.
